Construction soon underway

Construction of the new C$18 million Centre for Biodiversity Genomics will start in August on the campus of the University of Guelph. Work is scheduled for completion in about 12 months.

This 3,500 square metre research facility will serve as the scientific and administrative hub of the International Barcode of Life project (iBOL). The building will house the iBOL Secretariat, research areas for high-throughput DNA sequencing, server rooms and other bioinformatics infrastructure, climate-controlled areas for plant, animal and insect collections, offices for scientists, post-doc and grad students and support areas.
